My goal is to have my Reserve Pilot done by Halloween (a TIE with no helmet/box/armour), my helmet at least unfucked, reinforced, and painted by the end of the month, and my armour ordered in the spring, and a license and car so I can actually attend events - or… spread the word here in the 412 so people will ask us to things more often, cos I can’t really just up and get to Central PA or Philly every week.

I just need boots, the belt, and the flightsuit/patches now for the RP. All of which I’ve sourced and tracked down, I just need to buy them. SO CLOSE. O:

Painting my commpad.

Which is going to be mostly covered up by gloves anyway, but… requirements is requirements.
Awesome day was awesome.

High Quality 501st Patch
lol chillin’ in the freezer.

The thing with the vinyl-cast helmets, besides needing to do a tonne of work to ‘em to get them to pass muster, is that high temperatures are not very friendly toward them.

I was sitting outside sanding the eyesockets, when I noticed it was getting soft. This worked to my advantage because the left side needed pushed out anyway, so I popped it back into place. The ear things need a support in them (they’re infamous for getting bent out of shape from sitting in a display box or wherever they were), so I’ll do that whenever I can get my hands on some wood or scrap metal. Buuut the side getting that easily popped back into place? Day = made.

I gave it a good rinse off in cold water and stuck it in the freezy for a bit. It’s hardened again, but I think I’m going to let it hang out in the basement for a while and clean up my mess.
My youngest sister has steadier hands than I do, so she’s going to town with the Dremel while I stand by with my hands over my eyes.

Plastic cement is basically the best adhesive ever.

Edit: Would I look suspicious sanding a toy gun on the front porch at midnight in a not-so-good-sometimes neighbourhood? Ha! I am full of not sleeping and I want to work on this more so I can start painting.

No drill, no filler. The God-Emperor of Mechanics lives here and we have neither power drill nor body filler.

Well, there went this weekend’s plans. B/

It’s here! :D

Now I have to… sand it, completely repaint it, replace/add things, and do a bunch of other stuff it to make it accurate, but YAY

My TIE pilot helmet shipped. x3

I can’t wait to start modding it when it gets here.

And having wild theories about why it isn’t here yet. Like, the mailman stole it and is wearing it. Boof.

I’m a cadet with my area’s 501st chapter. :`3 Once I get my gear finished and approved with them, I can join the actual 501st. My mentor dude is loads of helpful. This is going to be awesome.

Going to help out at a con next month, since I know I won’t have my costume built by then.

Wooo fun.
